Aniimo Twining explained

Twining lets you merge with a creature to move in new ways. Here is what it does and why it matters for exploration.

A purple Aniimo creature wearing a wizard hat

Twining is one of Aniimo’s defining mechanics. Instead of only fighting alongside your creatures, you can merge with one and take on its abilities.

What Twining does

When you Twine with a creature, you move the way that creature does. Depending on the species, that can mean running faster, gliding through the air or swimming. This lets you reach places that are unreachable on foot.

How to unlock it

Twining becomes available once you have completed the prologue and can catch creatures. Catch a variety of species early, because each one opens up different ways to explore.

Tips

  • Try a different creature when a path looks blocked. Another movement type may solve it.
  • Build a team with different movement abilities, not only strong fighters.
  • Explore with a purpose: Twining is also useful for puzzles and getting around Idyll quickly.
